De man had de onhebbelijke gewoonte om aan te bellen bij de buren om dan gedetailleerde feitenkennis over krijgsgeschiedenis te debiteren. Opmerkelijk zijn de commentaren van zowel de rechter als de veroordeelde:</p> <blockquote> <p>‘Now he can spend hours and hours doing something useful while his local community is a slightly more comfortable place to be.
